Eric Andrews, LPC Counseling & Psychotherapy

Talk Therapy

I offer traditional talk therapy services that are based on effective methods of treatment and backed by decades of efficacy research within the psychological field. My goal is to help find the methods of treatment that meet the unique requirements of each client to help bring about change quickly and with lasting effect.

I provide treatment for a number of mental and behavioral health issues including:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Grief and Loss
  • Identity Problems
  • Life Changes
  • Sexual Concerns
  • Sleep Issues
  • Stress & Coping
  • Trauma

I do not provide substance abuse counseling or mandated offender treatment. Additionally, being in private practice, I do not have the resources for clients that may require case-management or multiple treatment options (e.g., individuals with chronic mental health conditions and a history of repeated psychiatric hospitalization).

Theoretical Approach

My approach to psychotherapy is an integrative one: conscientiously pulling from clinically-proven techniques in an effort to meet the needs of each patient and situation. The approaches I use most frequently include:

  • Cognitive/Behavioral Therapy
  • Mindfulness Training
  • DBT
  • Hypnotherapy
  • Existential & Humanistic Therapy

I believe that collaboration with each client is necessary in order to facilitate the recognition of core beliefs and fears that perpetuate problematic symptoms. Interactions within the therapeutic environment can then be used to overcome issues that hinder positive change. My experience is that a balanced approach is often the most effective and I emphasize the need in treatment for uniting both thinking and feeling, understanding and doing. My study and practice of Ashtanga yoga, meditation, and martial arts allows me to bring an understanding of the body/mind connection to my practice that can help my patients better understand and cope with their personal struggles.

Crisis Services

I provide 24-hour crisis coverage for active clients who may be experiencing a life-threatening psychiatric emergency. These services are tailored to meet the needs of the client’s situation and may range from phone support and same-day appointments, to hospital evaluations and assistance with inpatient admission to an appropriate psychiatric facility.
